Jack Van Impe False Prophet Or Truthful?

By Maryanne Goff

It seems that one televangelist has changed direction in their ministry. He was once a part of the Jerry Falwell ministry. He says he no longer follows the fundamentalist views he formerly expounded. He now praises the Roman Catholic Church and approves of the Pope, spiritual leader of that religious institution. It is apparent that jack van impe false prophet has greatly altered his professed beliefs.

Unlike the opinions he previously expressed, he now applauds the dictates of the Catholic church. He made a statement that the Pope gave him new direction. Some people understand this to be placing the Pope above Jesus Christ and his dictates. However, it is simply that he views the Pope in a reverential way.

A rift developed between van impe and the broadcasting network that aired his weekly program. They could not tolerate his speaking against certain ministers. They forbid him to use their names when he spoke about them. When he had this restriction imposed on him, he made the decision to leave and find new networks to broadcast his show.

There are not many followers of fundamental mindset who will accept these new ideas. To them the concept of accepting the tenets of either the Catholics or the Muslims is something that will not happen. The idea of equating Islamic beliefs with Christian beliefs is abhorrent to them. It is not surprising that objecting to it is a natural response. However, predictions state that there will eventually be only one religion in the entire world.

The new ambiguous opinions angered many people when he voiced them on air. People clearly remember his stand against Catholics and now he was praising the Pope. He also accepts the concept of Chrislam, which is a movement that intends to unite Christianity and Islam. It is not a popular concept among many people.

A talk show host, Jimmy Kimmel did a parody on the minister. In it, Van Impe claimed that the word computer added up to the numbers 666 through addition and multiplication processes. He also spoke disparaging words about computers. Then in his ambiguous way, he instructed people on how they could download content from the ministry website.

Jack graduated from high school in 1948 and entered Detroit Bible College, which later became William Tyndale College. He financed his college education by working as a concert organizer. He began his profession as a church preacher early in life. His memorizing 14,000 verses from the bible is legendary.

He has traveled all over the country to preach the gospel truth as he sees it. From strict adherence to Baptist fundamentalism to his currently liberal attitude towards Catholicism, the Pope and Islam is a radical change. He went from preaching against them to promoting them as he does today.

His split with the Trinity Broadcasting Network occurred because they forbid him to use the names of the ministers he opposed. He did so because he thought they were preaching untrue doctrine. When the network imposed this restriction on his sermons, he left and found other networks to air his program. His new beliefs led to him being called jack van impe false prophet. He continued to speak his mind on the new networks. It was the truth as he saw it and he would not be prevented from expressing it.
