The Business Advantages Of Well Maintained Awnings Tucson

By Bernice Terry

No matter how well organized and clean your retail business looks on the inside, scruffy-looking awnings Tucson will not bring in the customers. An awning is a sheet of material, such as canvas, plastic, etc., that is stretched over a frame and hung over a storefront, doorway, deck or window to protect it from sun and rain. Other names for them include tent, canopy or sunshade.

The county seat in Pima, Tucson is also the location of the University of Arizona. No fewer than three interstate highways intersect here, I-8 to California, I-10 west to New Mexico and I-19, sixty miles north of the Mexican border at Nogales. It takes a little over an hour to reach the border town of Nogales from Tucson.

Given the location of Tucson, surrounded as it is by desert, an awning is a blessing for more reasons than its decorative function. It provides much-needed shelter from the blazing sun. Here, you are at least sixty minutes from any form of green vegetation.

A smart-looking, well-kept awning will attract window-shoppers to the front of a store. They may be attracted by the shade they provide, but people will naturally feel compelled to step inside your shop almost by way of a thank you for letting them seek respite under your shelter. A torn or faded awning, on the other hand, will drive them well away from your door.

Arizona is situated in the southwestern corner of America. On February 14, 1912, it was admitted into the union as the 48th state, the last of the continental United States. One of its main attractions is Grand Canyon National Park. After it was visited by Teddy Roosevelt, America's 26th President, he admitted to feeling a sense of awe and declared that all Americans should see it. The Grand Canyon is considered by its loyal visitors to be one of the 8 wonders of the world.

The northern half of the state is characterized by the San Francisco Mountains, many deep, large canyons as well as the Colorado Plateau. Not a lot of people associate the state with skiing, but there are several such resorts in the areas of Flagstaff and Alpine. The south, on the other hand, has a desert climate with dry, hot summers and pleasant winters.

Arizona was proclaimed a confederate territory by President Jefferson Davis on February 14, 1862. During this time and until the beginning of the 20th century, Brigham Young had sent the Mormons to settle Arizona, where they founded the cities of Heber, Mesa, Safford, Snowflake and others. Copper mining and cotton farming became two of the state's most important industries. These industries suffered briefly during the Great Depression but recovered by the 1920s and 1930s, helping to make Arizona the important industrialized city that it is today.

Awnings Tucson provide shelter from the heat and add a festive feel to the place. With Mexico so close, there is a definite Spanish tang as well. Awnings are also useful, important features of mobile homes, recreational vehicles and camper vans.
