A Lucid Dream Walk Through To Explore Your Dreams

By Patrick Cook

This might sound like the same exact thing as controlling your dreams, but there are subtle differences between the two. A lucid dream walk through will help you to recognize the differences. Instead of directly influencing surroundings, lucidity is often just about observing what's going on.

If you are someone who wears a watch often, you can look at that from time to time in order to make sure this is reality and not a dream. In so doing, you will be more likely to lucid dream. This because if you do the same check-up while you are sleeping, the numbers on the clock or watch will appear distorted or incorrect.

The most simple thing that you can ask yourself throughout your day is if this is in fact real life or if you are only dreaming. That way, once you enter your session of dreaming for the night, you will probably ask yourself that same question just out of sheer habit. It doesn't take long to figure out that the world around you does not seem real at all, and you can then further explore it with complete awareness.

Keeping a journal of all your dreams is very helpful. That way, you will be able to see the events with clarity. Picking out key details makes it easier to gain lucidity in the dreams.

Many people try to experience wake-initiated lucidity in their dreaming, but few are actually able to achieve it. This is because it requires a very high level of control over your own mind. Otherwise, you couldn't possibly hope to relax enough to enter your dreams without falling asleep first.

People experience this type of thing very commonly when they are already dreaming. All it takes is the right kind of stimulus to suddenly make you aware of the reality of the situation. Once you finally do, it just gets easier and easier.

You might try telling yourself that you will keep your conscious mind active while your dreaming right before you go to bed. Saying it out loud definitely helps. That way, not only are you forming the words with your mouth, vocal cords, and diaphragm, but you are also then hearing them in your own voice.

Some people find looking at their hands to be an effective reality check. Hands are so complex, detailed, and recognizable to their owners that you will definitely be able to tell if they are real hands or not. The more you stare at your hands, the better you'll get at doing this.
